What is brand story?

Simply speaking, brand story is additional to the functions or service you can provide, it reaches to customers’ spiritual level, and raise their emotions.

Why do we need a brand story?

Before answering this, let me tell you a little story. TRUTH walked into villages, but the local inhabitants didn’t welcome him, they chased him out of villages. Then TRUTH met STORY, STORY was welcomed by the local. TRUTH told STORY what happened to him, STORY said:”Of course they all reject you, no one want to look at the naked truth.” When we are thinking of how to make customer accept our brand easily, why not try to tell them a story? Story is a smart way of communication, especially for a brand.

How to tell a good brand story?

1.KISS Principle Make the story simple and easy to be understanded.

2.Highlight conflict Conflict is key to telling compelling stories. So be transparent about the adversity your company has faced, and own it. The more honest you are about your shortcomings; the more people will respect you and relate to your brand.

3.Emotional Good story can make audience have empathy, and they may build emotional connection with this brand.
